A gaze determination area is provided to an image displayed on a VR-HMD. An object that has been displayed within the gaze determination area for a time equal to or longer than a given time is determined to be a gaze object (cup object). First-level menu display objects that respectively represent first-level menu items among menu items having a hierarchical structure that are set to the object are displayed in an array in a reference direction that is defined with respect to the gaze object. When the user has turned his/her head so that the desired first-level menu display object is displayed within the gaze determination area, and the desired first-level menu display object has been detected to be the gaze object, the first-level menu item is selected, and second-level menu display objects that are lower than the selected first-level menu item are displayed. |

1. A method for causing a computer to generate an image (hereinafter referred to as “VR-HMD image”) that is displayed on a head tracking type virtual reality head mounted display (hereinafter referred to as “VR-HMD”), the method comprising:
causing the computer to set a virtual space that is displayed within the VR-HMD image, a plurality of objects being placed in the virtual space; causing the computer to determine a line-of-sight direction of the VR-HMD in the virtual space; causing the computer to determine an object among the plurality of objects that is situated to intersect the line-of-sight direction to be a selected object; and causing the computer to place an information array in the virtual space, a plurality of information arrangement directions being defined in a relative and three-dimensional manner with respect to the information array, and the information array being placed in the virtual space so that a position of the selected object serves as a base point, and the information arrangement direction has a given relative relationship with respect to the line-of-sight direction. |
