The present invention relates to a storage heat exchange bundle (11) for a thermal energy storage battery comprising tubes (1) in which there is placed a substance that allows a determined quantity of heat to be stored and released, and a manifold (7) holding the said tubes (1) at their ends, the manifold (7) comprising the ends of the said tubes embedded in a material (5) able to hold the said ends relative to one another. The invention also relates to a method of closing a storage heat exchange bundle tube for a thermal energy storage battery.
