This cylindrical tank construction method involves a step in which an inner tank is assembled inside of a PC wall 2 by repeatedly alternating between raising an inner tank side plate 9 by a jack-up apparatus and welding the next inner tank side plate 9B to the lower portion of the raised inner tank side plate 9A. A method is adopted which involves a step for installing a rail 200 in the circumferential direction of the tank along the inner wall surface of the PC wall 2, a step for installing an upper guide device 100 which is configured so as to be capable of moving in the tank circumferential direction along the rail 200 and so as to be capable of linking to the upper portion of the next inner tank side plate 9B, and a step for linking the upper guide device 100 to the next inner tank side plate 9B and conveying the upper guide device 100 in the tank circumferential direction. |
