Provided is an anti-toppling device that can easily be installed between the top surface of an article and a ceiling. This anti-toppling device is provided with a damper (10), a pair of base portions (30A, 30B), and a fixing cord (90). The damper (10) is mounted between the top surface of a piece of furniture (F) installed on a floor and a ceiling (C). The base portions (30A, 30B) are connected to the end portions of the damper (10). The first base portion (30A) is in contact with the top surface of the piece of furniture (F), and the second base portion (30B) is in contact with the ceiling (C). The fixing cord (90) holds the damper (10) in a contracted state at a desired length. |
