1. A method of coating a metal substrate comprising:
(i) applying a composition comprising at least one curable polyvinyl alcohol and at least one wetting agent to a surface of a metal substrate; (ii) curing the composition on the surface of the metal substrate by heating to a temperature of from 60° C. to 230° C. thereby forming a cured coating; and optionally pretreating the metal substrate with a varnish or an undercoat before step (i). |
