PROCESSING LOG FILES USING A DATABASE SYSTEM

Disclosed are some examples of database systems, methods, and computer program products for processing log files. In some implementations, log files can be accessed and identifiers can be generated for the data entries of the log files. The generated identifiers can be used to determine whether data entries in the log files are new, and therefore, should be extracted for analysis.

1. A system comprising:
at least one processor capable of executing instructions configured to cause: accessing a log file comprising a plurality of data entries identifying system events corresponding to user activity associated with a plurality of users of a database system, each entry of the log file comprising a plurality of data items, generating identifiers for each data entry of the plurality of data entries, each of the identifiers providing a unique identification of a corresponding data entry, determining the identifiers that correspond to new data entries that have not been extracted for analysis by an analytics application, extracting the new data entries based on the identifiers, and providing the new data entries to the analytics application.
