383,816. Spray carburetters. LOMBARD, P. P., 36, Boulevard Ornano, and DUVAL, H. J., 15, Avenue de la Porte d'Italie, both in Paris. Feb. 15, 1932, No. 4444. Convention date, Sept. 22, 1931. [Class 7 (iii).] Liquid fuel from a tank 4 flows past a needle valve 7 and is delivered by a pipe 8 on to a paddle-wheel 9 which dips into water contained in a vessel 1. Air admitted to the vessel past a suction actuated valve 16 is carburetted and moistened as it passes the wheel 9. The combustible mixture rotates a second paddlewheel 11 which drives the wheel 9. A third paddle-wheel 20 completes the mixing and the charges pass a throttle valve 15 on their way to the engine. Filters 21, 22 prevent damage due to backfiring; the throttle valve 15 may be operated simultaneously with the needle valve 7. |
