PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an apparatus cannot be made compact since a biological deodorization tank employs nitrification reaction using an ammonia oxidation fungus, a nitrite oxidation fungus and the so-called nitrification fungus, however the reaction heat of the nitrification reaction is not effectively used and nitrification-denitrification is not efficiently performed.SOLUTION: A deodorization apparatus includes an inner cylinder 10, an outer cylinder 11 provided around the inner cylinder 10 and communicated with the inner cylinder 10 at the lower end of the outer cylinder 11, a microorganism carrying material 30 appropriated-arranged in an inside space 20 surrounded by the inner cylinder 10, a carbon source 31 appropriated in an outside space 21 between the inner cylinder 10 and the outer cylinder 11, water sprinkling means 12 for sprinkling water onto the microorganism carrying material 30 and air-blowing means 13 for blowing malodorous gas to the inside space 20 from the water sprinkling means 12 side, thereby the deodorization apparatus makes nitrification reaction heat hard to escape to outside air, by causing nitrification reaction in the inside space 20 heat-insulated/heat-reserved in the outside space 21. The deodorization apparatus is made compact by improving a processing speed of nitrification-denitrification reaction in the winter season or a cold district, by promoting the nitrification reaction being rate controlling reaction of the nitrification-denitrification reaction, by warming up and activating the nitrification fungus using the generated reaction heat. |
