PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immunostimulator which can be safely used over a long period of time, is derived from naturally occurring substances, has few side effects and prevents allergic symptoms of pollinosis, atopic allergy, etc. and carcinogenesis by regulation of immune balance and immunostimulatory action.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for activating immunity using a ground product or extract of a Salacia spp. plant., which is at least one kind selected from Salacia oblonga, Salacia reticulata, and Salacia prinoides and whose extract shows an activity having 50% inhibition concentration (IC50 value) of sucrase which is 10-600 μg/ml.
