The invention relates to a header (10) for a heat exchanger of a motor vehicle, designed to receive heat exchange tubes (12). The header comprises: a metal plate (18) through which the tubes (12) pass and which has two long edges (26) for the crimping of the header (10) to a header box (16); and a plate (22) comprising a polymer material, placed above the metal plate (18) and provided with openings (42) for receiving the tubes (12).
