In a device for shifting a blocking element (50) of a steering column of a motor vehicle, an identification element (14) is in the retracted position (4) in the event of a key channel (12) being key-free and is in the extended position (3) when a key is inserted, wherein the safety block (30), in the deactivated state (6) thereof, permits a movement of the blocking element (50) and the identification element (14) is in the retracted position (4), and the safety block (30), in the activated state (5), blocks a movement of the blocking element (50) from the unlocking position (2) into the locking position (1) and the identification element (14) is in the extended position (3). The safety block (30) has a lever element (32), wherein, by means of movement of the identification element (14), the lever element (32) rotates between a release position (7) and a locking position (8) and, in the locking position (8), the lever element (32) acts on the coupling element (31) and, in the release position (7), the lever element (32) permits movement of the coupling element (31), and, upon rotation of the lever element, the rotary spindle (33) can be displaced. |
