The invention relates to a retaining device (1) for dispensing a food body to domestic animals in a rationed manner, comprising an elongate main body (2), which has an elongate cavity (6) having a longitudinal axis (7) in order to hold a segment of the food body, and a fastening apparatus (10) for fastening the segment of the food body in the cavity (6). The problem addressed by the invention is that of developing an alternative retaining device for dispensing a food body in a rationed manner that is characterized by a simple and robust construction and is suitable for retaining food bodies of different types. This problem is solved by a fastening element (15) of the fastening apparatus (10), which fastening element extends transversely to the longitudinal axis (7) of the cavity (6) and which fastening element (15) can penetrate the segment of the food body and between which fastening element (15) and the food body a detachable positive-locking connection can be established, the fastening apparatus (10) having an actuating element (19), which, in a fastening position (20) of the fastening apparatus (10), lies in a hole (11) located on the surface of the main body (2). The invention further relates to a food body for domestic animals that can be retained especially well by means of the retaining device (1) according to the invention. |
