Rowing telemetrics system 10 for measuring the performance of a rower 12, the system comprises an oar sensor 16 arranged to measure rowing data relating to an oar 18 with which the oar sensor 16 is coupled, and a transmitter 20 which is releasably engageable with the oar sensor 16 and arranged to receive and transmit the rowing data. A display unit 22 is provided which is remote from the oar sensor 16, the display unit 22 includes a receiver which is communicable with the transmitter 20. The oar sensor 16 can include an accelerometer, a gyrometer or a positional sensor. A plurality of different portable transmitters 20 may be provided to allow data to be separately recorded for a number of users. The transmitter 20 can have a wired connection 30 to the oar sensor 16 or include a wireless communications element. The display unit 22 can be a wearable, portable computing device. |
