[Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii).] In a television receiver employing a positive column discharge tube which must be maintained at a high temperature, the air current generated by the Nipkow disc 1, Fig. 2, is prevented from cooling the lamp 3 by a screen 5 having a glass aperture 6, and the lamp 3, Fig. 3, is enclosed in a heating box 4 having a dull glass pane 6 and equipped with heaters 7 to compensate for the heat radiation at the pane 6. The lamp 3 may be bent to cover a large surface area. |
