摘要 380,293. Rolling wire rods. SCHLOEMANN AKT.-GES., 13, Steinstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Nov. 14, 1931, No. 31600. Convention date, Sept. 24. [Class 83 (iv).] Several wire rods in parallel are rolled in a continuous mill comprising several groups of roughing and intermediate roll stands 1, 2, 3 the wires then diverging to three or more parallel groups of finishing roll stands 4, 5, 6. Each group 1, 2, 3 is driven by a separate motor 7, 8, 9 which can be speed-regulated individually or in conjunction with the motors 10, 11 of the finishing stands. Each roll 13 or each pair of rolls of a finishing stand has a separate motor to eliminate the inertia of heavy gearing to allow quicker speed adjustment. All the motors can be controlled from a Leonard motor generator set, the motor 12 supplying current to the generators 15 which in turn supply current under control to each motor of each roll stand and each group of roll stands. The wires are then led off to reels 14.
