PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light water reactor core capable of decreasing the number of spent fuel assemblies.SOLUTION: A plurality of fuel assemblies A to H ranging from a plurality of fuel assemblies A each containing TUR the number of times of recycling of which is one to a plurality of fuel assembles each containing TRU the number of times of recycling of which is eight, the fuel assemblies separately containing TRU the number of times of recycling of which is from one to eight is loaded into a light water reactor core 20C. The fuel assemblies A containing TRU having the smallest number of times of recycling are arranged in a central portion of the reactor core 20C, and the fuel assemblies having the larger number of times of recycling (fuel assemblies B to fuel assemblies H) are arranged closer to a core outermost layer region between this central portion and the outermost layer region. In a case of such a reactor core 20C, provided that the entire reactor core 20C is in a state of 100% voids, it is possible to relax the shift of a radial output distribution to the reactor core central portion and to decrease the number of spent fuel assemblies. |
