PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polyolefin with an increased graft amount of an unsaturated (poly)carboxylic acid and improved hue.SOLUTION: A method for producing a modified polyolefin comprises reacting a polyolefin having a number average molecular weight of 800-50,000 and 0.1-20 double bonds per 1,000 of the carbon number, which is produced by subjecting a polyolefin having a number average molecular weight of 30,000-400,000 to thermal degradation under the condition of an oxygen concentration of 15-500 ppm, with an unsaturated (poly)carboxylic acid (anhydride) in an inert gaseous atmosphere in the presence of a radical initiator. A resin modifier contains the modified polyolefin. |
