A drive assist device according to an embodiment is provided with: a destination-setting unit for setting a stop destination; an acquisition unit for acquiring the position of a vehicle; and an output information control unit for controlling a display unit such that a first image for instructing when to stop the vehicle is displayed in a first mode when the vehicle is in an area encompassing the stop destination and is displayed in a second mode different from the first mode when the vehicle is outside the area.
