A power transmitting apparatus (100) is capable of transmitting power in a non-contact manner to a power receiving apparatus (200), which is provided with a power receiving antenna (202). The power transmitting apparatus is provided with: a power transmitting antenna (102), which has a power transmitting surface (102a) in the direction perpendicular to the ground, and which is disposed to face the power receiving antenna at the time of transmitting power; a first blocking unit (111), which covers the periphery of the power transmitting antenna, except at least a part of a lower portion of the power transmitting antenna, and which blocks electromagnetic waves; and a second blocking unit (112), which, at the time of transmitting power, covers at least the part of the periphery of the power transmitting antenna, and blocks electromagnetic waves. |
