Provided are a head-mounted display and a method for displaying information relating to an object by superimposing the information on a real image in a field of view of a user. Disclosed is a head-mounted display wherein: a first layer having stored therein first information relating to an object to be displayed on a display screen of the head-mounted display when a user is in a first state, and a second layer having stored therein second information relating to an object to be displayed on the display screen when the user is in a second state are stored in a map database; the state of the user is specified; on the basis of the specified state, the first layer or the second layer is selected; and on the basis of the selected layer, the display on the display screen is controlled. |
