PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper capable of both improving assembly of a rod guide and securing durability, and provide a method for manufacturing the damper.SOLUTION: A length L1 in which a sleeve 44 and a cylinder 22 are overlapped is longer than a length L2 from an end position P1 of a large diameter portion 43 to an end position P2 of an external cylinder 3. Therefore, the cylinder 2 can be aligned with respect to the external cylinder 3 in a state in which the cylinder 2 and the sleeve 44 are engaged together. In addition, the degree of freedom in designing a rod guide 8 is enhanced, which allows the rod guide 8 to be designed in shape including view of strength, so as to secure durability of the rod guide 8. |
