PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing medium and a printer using the printing medium in which an accurate residual quantity for each paper sheet roll can be detected, and in which an issuance history such as issuance error information or the like on the paper sheet roll can be known from the paper sheet roll.SOLUTION: A printer draws a belt-like paper sheet from a paper sheet roll 1 as a printing medium formed by winding the belt-like paper sheet around a hollow tube body to perform printing by a printing part, and cuts the belt-like paper sheet by cutting means, thereby issuing a flat paper sheet. The paper sheet roll 1 includes a non-contact radio tag 18 which is provided on the tube body and can read and write data in a non-contact manner. The printer includes: a reader/writer 16 which is a non-contact radio tag communication part for performing data communication with the non-contact radio tag 18; and a control part for performing the processing of writing or reading issuance information on the issuance of the flat paper sheet by the printing part to or from the non-contact radio tag 18 through the reader/writer 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
