The invention relates to a device (D) used for counting terminals connected to an MBS area (ZM) of a wireless local communication network. The device (D) is coupled to an MBS service server (SM) and to each service flow authorisation agent (AF) associated with the MBS area (ZM), and is in charge of collecting information relative to the terminals (MS) and known of said MBS service server (SM) and service flow authorisation agents (AF) in order to derive from said collected information the number of terminals (MS) effectively present in the MBS area (ZM).
