摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a positive electrode material for lithium batteries wherein the material is a new active material which contains Li, Co, and P as components, does not degrade high electromotive force properties, and has practical properties and high production efficiency. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode material for lithium batteries contains at least one selected from phosphoric acid lithium salt, phosphoric acid lithium/ cobalt salt, cobalt oxide, and lithium/cobalt oxides. A positive electrode material (1) for lithium batteries and prepared by forming a powder of an active material composition containing lithium, cobalt, and phosphorus into a sheet by a binder and a binder liquid containing the active material powder are spread and dried on an elongate supporting sheet (2), wherein the contents of cobalt and phosphorus of the composition are respectively over 0.1 mole and over 0.2 mole per 1 mole lithium. As a result, sheet-like positive electrodes containing the new active material are prepared stably by continuous process and thus lithium batteries with high electromotive force, high discharge voltage and discharge capacity, and excellent practical properties are prepared.
