The invention relates to a pump, in particular a high-pressure fuel pump, having a housing (10,16,17) in which a drive shaft (12) is disposed by means of which at least one pump element (22) is moved. The drive shaft (12) is mounted in the housing (10,16,17) in a rotatable fashion via at least one bearing (14,15) configured as a sliding bearing. In at least one axial edge region (X) of the at least one bearing (14,15), the region facing a load application region (18) of the drive shaft (12) for the at least one pump element (22), the housing (16,17) and/or the drive shaft (12) are reduced in the cross-section thereof such that, when a load is applied to the drive shaft (12) while driving the at least one pump element (22), the housing (16,17) and/or the drive shaft (12) in the axial edge region (X) of the at least one bearing (14,15) is elastically deformed perpendicularly to the rotational axis (13) of the drive shaft (12). This reduces the pressure on the bearing (14,15) in the axial edge region (X), which allows the bearing (14,15) to have smaller dimensions, because a more uniform load is applied to said bearing across the axial extension thereof. |
