A quick attach rotary mower blade system 100 comprises a blade holder 102 secured to a mower spindle 104 with a shoulder bolt 132, a pair of upwardly (in use) extending protrusions 120 on the blade holder, and a spring biased plunger 126 extending downwardly from the blade holder. A rotary mower blade has a centrehole 140 that slides over the shoulder bolt, compresses the spring 124 biased plunger. The mower blade may be removed and installed while the blade holder, plunger and shoulder bolt remain attached to the spindle. The blade holder may have a pair of L-shaped arms 118 and the protrusions may engage with a pair of holes 142 on the mower blade. The plunger may be retained to the blade holder by a plurality of retaining fingers 130. The shoulder bolt may have an unthreaded portion 134 which has a smaller diameter than the central hole of the mower blade and the central opening 123 of the plunger. |
