PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more inexpensively a glass having high devitrification resistance while having a refractive index (n) and an Abbe number (&ngr;) within a desired range.SOLUTION: There is provided an optical glass which contains 1.0 to 30.0 mass% of a BOcomponent and 10.0 to 60.0 mass% of an LaOcomponent based on the total mass of the glass in terms of oxides and has an Abbe number (&ngr;) of 35 or more and in which the content of a TaOcomponent is less than 15.0%. The optical glass preferably has a refractive index (n) of 1.75 or more. |
