PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetism measurement data calibration device and azimuth angle measuring instrument for improving followability with respect to the change of an environment offset.SOLUTION: A device for correcting magnetism measurement data to be output from a magnetic element includes: an error function calculation unit for obtaining an error function on the basis of a difference between magnetic measurement data and a last offset; an offset residual calculation unit for calculating an offset residual on the basis of the error function and a last covariance matrix; an offset updating unit for adding the offset residual to an offset when last magnetism measurement data has been measured and calculating a new offset; a covariance matrix updating unit for updating the covariance matrix of magnetism measurement data where previously measured magnetism measurement data is defined as a parent population through the use of measured magnetism measurement data; an offset validity determination unit for calculating a first evaluation value that indicates an error between the updated offset and a true value; and an initialization determination unit for initializing offset processing when the first evaluation value exceeds a predetermined first threshold. |
