The purpose of the present invention is to suppress discharge failure of droplets failing to be discharged from a nozzle after a liquid adhered to a nozzle surface is wiped off, even when wiping members that have different absorption times for absorbing a unit amount of liquid are used. As the absorption time a wiping member takes to absorb a unit amount of liquid becomes shorter, a control unit increases a first moving speed at which the wiping member and a droplet discharge head are moved relative to each other, and a second moving speed at which the wiping member is moved. |
