The flange 10 comprises a having first 14 and second 16 ends and a circular bore 18 between the ends. The first end of each bore is exposed at the first end of each body, the first end of each flange is of a larger diameter than the second end. A number of bolt holes 24 are provided parallel with the bore. The flange also includes a recess 50 which includes a surface spaced axially from the connection face and wherein an annular metallic seal surface 28 is provided between the spaced surface and an internal wall of the bore. The metallic surface extends at an angle to the bore from a first to second diameter within the body, wherein the first diameter is larger than the second. A shoulder 29 is formed between the metallic seal surface and an internal wall of the fluid bore on the flange and located a depth from a flange connection face. Also claimed is a seal assembly comprising two flanges and a metallic seal element comprising a circular band and located between the two flanges. Also claimed is an assembly with an auxiliary device. |
