PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a large magnetic anisotropy constant Kand a magnetic recording layer including a ferromagnetic material in which a magnetization axis is inclined by 45° from a vertical direction to a magnetic recording medium main plane.SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium comprises: a non-magnetic substrate; a seed layer; and a magnetic recording layer formed on the seed layer. The seed layer includes MnO, and the magnetic recording layer is formed of one or more magnetic layers. The magnetic layer contacting to the seed layer comprises a granular structure including: a magnetic crystal particles formed of an L1type regular alloy which are oriented (110); and a nonmagnetic crystal particle field surrounding the magnetic crystal particles and including carbon. |
