PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that exhibits small warpage of a liquid crystal panel and small display unevenness even after being placed under a wet heat environment.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal cell 10 having two cell substrates 11 and 12 and a liquid crystal layer 15 sandwiched between the cell substrates 11 and 12, a front-side polarizing plate 20 laminated on the visible side of the liquid crystal cell 10 through an adhesive agent layer 51, a rear-side polarizing plate 30 laminated on the side opposite to the visible side of the liquid crystal cell 10 through an adhesive agent layer 52, and a backlight unit 70 disposed outside the rear-side polarizing plate 30. The front-side polarizing plate 20 and the rear-side polarizing plate 30 include polarizing films 21 and 31 and transparent protective films 23 and 24; 33 and 34 disposed on both surfaces of the polarizing films 21 and 31, respectively. In both of the front-side polarizing plate 20 provided with the adhesive agent layer 51 and the rear-side polarizing plate 30 provided with the adhesive agent layer 52, the amount of water absorption when subjected to humidification treatment is less than 7 g/m, or the water evaporation rate is less than 5 g/mhr. |
