The method involves applying coating material (30) which is solidified in a layer thickness on a base or a solidified layer (18) of a manufactured body (10). A part of the applied coating material that is not solidified is taken, so that a new layer is remained from not solidified coating material, which has another layer thickness within pre-determined ranges and is smaller than the former layer thickness. An independent claim is included for a device for manufacturing a three-dimensional body by individual solidified layers.
