Provided is a light-emitting element capable of taking out emitted light efficiently to outside and securing sufficient light-emitting area. The light-emitting element 10 includes translucent substrate 11 having first and second surfaces, concavo-convex layer 12 having a concavo-convex pattern, first electrode layer 12, organic luminescent layer 14 having a light-emitting part, second electrode layer 15, and lens member 16 having a diameter D1. The concavo-convex layer, the first electrode layer, the organic luminescent layer, and the second electrode layer form a laminate in this order on the first surface side of the substrate, with the concavo-convex pattern arranged on the first electrode layer side of the concavo-convex layer. The substrate is provided with the lens member on the second surface, and the light-emitting part is a laminated region of a diameter D2 of the organic luminescent layer held between the first and second electrode layers, and the center of the light-emitting part is aligned concentrically to the center of the lens member. The ratio of the diameter D2 of the light-emitting part to the diameter D1 of the lens member is 0.7 < D2/D1 ‰¤ 1.0. |
