A system for processing material for a gasifier comprises an auger feeder adapted to receive, from a drop chute, material to be gasified. The auger feeder is adapted to feed the material. A tube is connected to the auger feeder such that the tube is adapted to receive the material from the auger feeder. The tube is also connected to a gasifier, which is adapted to receive the material from the tube. There may be a slide gate adapted to open to allow material to enter or exit the drop chute, and provide a substantially air-tight seal to the auger feeder. The tube may be in two parts, may be water-cooled and may have a flow restrictor. |
