PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil capable of alleviating a thermal stress with ease and preventing generation of insulation failures.SOLUTION: An ignition coil 1 for an internal combustion engine comprises: a center core 23; a primary spool 3; a secondary spool 4; an insulation resin layer 24 filled in an air gap in the ignition coil 1; and an adhesion suppression film 38 suppressing adhesion between the primary spool 3 and the insulation resin layer 24. A primary coil 39 is wound around an outer periphery of the primary spool 3, and a secondary coil 41 is wound around an outer periphery of the secondary spool 4. The primary spool 3 has a coil wound part 31 and a pair of spool end parts 32. On an outer peripheral side surface of the pair of spool end parts 32, a taper surface 34 inclined so that a radial directional distance from the secondary spool 4 becomes longer toward an axial direction outside from an end part of the coil wound part 31 is formed. |
