PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous binder for a mineral fiber, excellent in adhesiveness of a mineral fiber as a heat-resistant laminate material, containing no formaldehyde, and excellent in water resistance and hydrolysis resistance.SOLUTION: An aqueous binder for a mineral fiber contains a (co)polymer (A) having at least two carboxyl groups and/or potential carboxyl groups; a polyol (B) having at least two hydroxyl groups; a curing catalyst (C) which is at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a lewis acid (C1) and a proton acid (C2) and contains no phosphorus atom; and water. The ratio (COOH/OH) that is the total mol number of the carboxyl groups from the carboxyl groups and potential carboxyl groups in (A) to the mol number of the hydroxyl groups in (B) is 0.5 to 2.0. |
