Method of treating a steel tubing (12) with a coating to resist corrosion, the method including:
advancing the steel tubing (12) along a processing path;
heating the steel tubing (12) to a first temperature;
cleaning the steel tubing (12) heated to the first temperature with a hydrogen-nitrogen gas mixture;
cooling the cleaned steel tubing (12) to a second temperature;
reheating the cleaned steel tubing (12) to a third temperature; and
applying a layer of zinc-aluminum coating (102, 202) on the reheated steel tubing (12).
