Apparatus for communications management in a communications system of a moving platform comprising at least one platform application, said communications system being arranged and configured to effect data communication between said platform and another node by means of a supported wireless communications link in accordance with a communications plan, wherein said apparatus comprises an emissions management module configured to:
- obtain data representative of prevailing emissions control parameters in respect of a region defined by the relative locations of said platform and said other node; and/or obtain data representative of one or more adversary nodes defined by the relative locations of said platform and said other node; and
- generate, using attribute data representative of a position and/or orientation of said platform relative to said other node and/or said other node relative to said platform and data representative of said emissions control parameters and/or adversary node data, a communications plan that complies with restrictions defined by said emissions control parameters. The communications plan may include data representative of one or more of a selected antenna, a selected data link, selected power transmission and a platform manoeuvre, depending on what is required in order to best meet the emissions control criteria defined by the prevailing emissions control parameters. |
