摘要 The present invention provides an in vitro method of diagnosing whether a subject has, or is at risk for developing, breast cancer, comprising a) measuring the expression level of the following eight microRNAs selected from the group consisting of: miR-199a-3p, miR-122, miR-29c, miR-33a, miR-324-3p, let-7d, miR-1 81 c or miR-221 in a test biological fluid from said subject; b) comparing the expression level obtained in step a to a reference value; wherein an alteration in the expression level of said eight microRNAs is indicative of the subject either having, or being at risk for developing, breast cancer. The invention also provides methods of monitoring the progress of breast cancer and of treatment of breast cancer in a subject. The invention further provides a kit for use in said methods which comprises at least eight oligonucleotide probes specific for the detection of the following eight microRNAs selected from the group consisting of: miR-199a-3p, miR-122, miR-29c, miR-33a, miR-324-3p, let-7d, miR-181c or miR-221.
