PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate device that can attract attention of a passing body while made compact.SOLUTION: A gate device 1 includes: a prop 26 fixed to a partitioning material S partitioning a space; a plate-like door 10 connected to the prop 26; and driving means 21 of reciprocally moving the door 10 between a first position where a gate section G adjoining the prop 26 is blocked by directing a top surface 10A of the door 10 to a passing body passing through the gate space G and a second position where the gate space is released from being blocked by directing a reverse surface 10B of the door 10 to the passing body, the driving means 21 being configured to move the door 10 around an axis 22a of rotation extending obliquely to the horizon. Consequently, the area needed to move the door 10 can be made narrower than that for hinged double doors, so the size is reducible, and characters, symbols, etc., are displayed on the top surface of the door 10 so as to attract attention of the passing body. |
