1. An automated system for determining a white blood cell status in a biological sample, the system comprising:
a first module configured to determine a first red blood cell concentration of the biological sample; a second module configured to determine a combined white blood cell and nucleated red blood cell concentration of the biological sample, and a second red blood cell concentration of the biological sample; and a data processing module in connectivity with the first module and the second module, wherein the data processing module comprises a processor and a tangible non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer readable medium programmed with a computer application that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to determine the white blood cell status based on a multiplication product of a first factor and a second factor, the first factor comprising the first red blood cell concentration and the second factor comprising a ratio of the combined white blood cell and nucleated red blood cell concentration to a summation of the second red blood cell concentration plus the combined white blood cell and nucleated red blood cell concentration. |
