摘要 A network system has a printer with an internal web browser connected to a web server. The printer has a request unit that sends an HTTP request with printer status information embedded in the URL to the server, a data acquisition unit that gets HTML data from the server, and a print unit that executes a printing process based on the supplied HTML data. The server includes a request receiving unit that receives HTTP requests from the printer, a data transmission unit that sends HTML data to the client, and a status management unit that manages the printer status based on the status information embedded in the URL of the HTTP request.

A network system, comprising a printer and a web server, the web server being connected to the printer over a network, wherein the printer includes: a print unit configured to execute a print process;a status collection unit configured to collect status information about the printer; anda request unit configured to send an HTTP print request for acquiring print data to the web server, the status information being embedded in a URL of the HTTP print request; wherein the web server includes: a request receiver configured to receive the HTTP print request; anda status manager configured to manage the status of the printer based on the status information embedded in the HTTP print request, wherein the status information and HTTP print request are transmitted in a single transmission from the printer to the web server, and wherein a troubleshooting program is contained in a check status message embedded in HTML data sent by the web server to the printer, the troubleshooting program is configured to troubleshoot a problem identified in the status information.
