Partial Memory Command Fetching

A system and method that allows idle process logic blocks in a memory device to be utilized when the idle process logic blocks would otherwise be remaining idle as the current memory commands are executed. Utilizing the otherwise idle process logic blocks in the memory device allows more optimized use of the process logic blocks while not slowing or otherwise interfering with the execution of the current memory commands. The otherwise idle process logic blocks can perform additional operations for subsequently fetched memory commands that may otherwise cause delays in execution of the subsequently fetched memory commands.

1. A non-volatile memory system comprising:
a non-volatile memory system coupled to a non-volatile memory command queue in a host computer system via a data bus, the non-volatile memory system including at least one memory device, the memory device including:
a fetched memory command buffer;a plurality of non-volatile memory cells;a command fetching engine; anda plurality of process logic blocks, the command fetching engine including:
logic for fetching a memory command from the non-volatile memory command queue;logic for storing the fetched memory command in the fetched command buffer including logic for identifying an idle process logic block not used during an execution of the fetched memory command;logic for determining a field corresponding to the identified idle process logic blocks;logic for identifying a non-idle field in a not previously fetched memory command corresponding to idle process logic blocks, the not previously fetched memory command residing in the non-volatile memory command queue;logic for fetching the identified non-idle field in the not previously fetched memory command residing in the non-volatile memory command queue; andlogic for executing the fetched non-idle field and the fetched memory commands including logic for executing the fetched non-idle field during execution of the fetched memory command.
