Provided is a liquid developer that is formed by dispersing toner particles, which contain a pigment and a resin including a polyester, into an insulating liquid in the presence of a dispersing agent, wherein the insulating liquid has a boiling point of 300 °C or less, and has a methyl group peak intensity ratio of 25% or more as calculated using formula (1) (in the formula, A represents the peak intensity ascribed to CH3 stretching vibration as measured by a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, and B represents the total peak intensity ascribed to CH2 stretching vibration and CH stretching vibration), or contains polyisobutene. |
