1. A file transmission apparatus for transmitting a file, the file transmission apparatus comprising:
a selection unit configured to select whether to assign a file name including additional information to the file or a file name not including additional information to the file; a setting unit configured to set a file name to the file based on a selection by the selection unit; a transmission unit configured to transmit the file to which the file name is set by the setting unit; a reception unit configured to receive from a user specification of whether to overwrite a file stored in a transmission destination of the file with a file having a same file name as the relevant file; and a control unit configured to enable reception by the reception unit based on the selection by the selection unit.
