A liquid crystal display apparatus and a backlight module (1) thereof. A quantum dot film (20) is flatly adhered to a light guide plate (10); an optical film (30) is located above the quantum dot film (20); a light source (40) is disposed on a side edge of the light guide plate (10); a back frame (50) receives the light guide plate (10) and the light source, and comprises a bottom plate (51) and a side plate (52) that vertically extends from the bottom plate (51); a side frame (60) surrounds and fastens the back frame (50), the side frame (60) comprises a vertical plate (61) and a horizontally extending piece (62) that extends from the vertical plate (61), and the vertical plate (61) is abut against an external side of the side plate (52). The horizontally extending piece (62) presses the quantum dot film (20) on the light guide plate (10) and space apart the optical film (30) and the quantum dot film (20), avoiding a blue ring phenomenon due to that the edge of the quantum dot film (20) bends easily, thereby improving the optical taste of the backlight of the quantum dot film (20). |
