A route management method applicable to a packet forwarding device is provided in an example. The packet forwarding device may comprise a main control board, a fabric card, and a line card. The method comprises: a main control board respectively sends routing entries having different packet features to one or more fabric cards in a packet forwarding device according to a preset entry allocation policy; and the main control board sends route allocation information for indicating correspondences between the fabric cards and the packet features of the stored routing entries to a line card, so that the line card may send packets satisfying the packet features to the corresponding fabric cards according to the route allocation information for forwarding. |
