An image generation unit (20) performs distortion correction for correcting distortion of a captured image captured by an imaging unit (10) installed in a vehicle to generate an object image covering a maximum range of an image to be displayed. An image display unit (20) displays the generated object image in a display area of a display unit. An indefinite region determination unit (20) determines whether at least one indefinite region in which no image is formed in the object image is present or not, on the basis of image height data indicating the distance from an imaging center of the imaging unit to each pixel corresponding to each image point and the posture of the installed imaging unit. If at least one indefinite region is present as a result of the determination, a mask setting unit (20) sets a mask region that is a rectangular region having a straight line circumscribed on the at least one indefinite region and covers an end portion of the object image in which the indefinite region is present. The image generation unit generates, as a new object image, an image generated by performing masking for filling the set mask region with prescribed color on the object image. |
