Combined Tablet Screen Drag-and-drop Interface

A media rendering system includes a media rendering device and a controller device in communication via a network. The controller has a touch screen, presenting a portrait display mode when oriented in a first position, and a landscape display mode when oriented in a second position. The portrait mode displays either a first full screen presenting a first menu, or a second full screen presenting a second menu. The landscape mode displays a landscape full screen with two side-by-side tiles including a first tile presenting the first menu and a second tile presenting the second menu. Landscape mode provides drag-and-drop functionality for menu objects among the first and second, generating configuration commands to the media rendering device.

a touch screen; and a processor and a memory containing non-transitory instructions that, when executed by the processor, perform the steps of:
providing a graphical user interface on a display portion of the touch screen;presenting the display portion of the touch screen in a portrait mode comprising:
a first full screen presenting a first menu of first objects; anda second full screen presenting a second menu of second objects; andpresenting the display portion of the touch screen in a landscape mode comprising:
a landscape full screen comprising a first side-by-side tile and a second side-by-side tile substantially filling the landscape full screen, further comprising:
the first tile presenting the first menu; andthe second tile presenting the second menu;providing drag-and-drop operation functionality for the first and second objects between the first and second tiles;generating a configuration command to the media rendering device as a result of a drag-and-drop operation; andconfiguring the touch screen to display the portrait mode when oriented in a first position, and to display the landscape mode when oriented in a second position.
